Case
CASE.01National capacity planning
A new partner rostering process and a capacity forecast built on it raised roster compliance from 85% to 97% across a national delivery network.
- 85 → 97%
Partner roster compliance
- 2,500
Delivery partners planned through the system
- Context
- A national hub delivery network of about 2,500 partner stores, planned centrally.
- Friction
- Network planning had no reliable view of which partners would be available, so plans broke and compliance varied by site.
- Intervention
- A rostering process with a compliance mechanism designed with Legal, and a capacity and volume forecast built on top of it.
- Adoption
- Rolled out in phases, with partner training, plain communication and weekly KPI tracking.
- Role and scope
- Employee, process engineer for the national network. Designed the rostering process and the capacity tool, and led demand forecasting, routing and capacity planning at national level.
Deliverables
- Partner rostering process and workflow
- Compliance mechanism, designed with the legal team
- Capacity and volume forecasting tool
- Rostering and compliance dashboards
In short
CASE.01.BThe network planned deliveries for thousands of partner stores, but it could not see reliably which partners would be available on a given day. Plans were built on guesses, broke when the guesses were wrong, and compliance varied from site to site.
The work started with the rostering process itself: how partners tell the network when they can work, what happens when they do not, and who follows up. The compliance mechanism was designed with the legal team so it was fair and enforceable. On top of that data sat a single capacity and volume forecast, replacing scattered spreadsheets.
The change was launched in phases, with training and plain communication for partners, and tracked every week. When the underlying technology changed, the process was adapted rather than rebuilt, and compliance kept rising.
